The admissions authority for Ifield Community College (ICC) is The Collegiate Trust. Applications for a school place at ICC are managed by West Sussex County Council.
Application for Year 7 Place
Applications are online through West Sussex County Council Admissions.
ICC joined the Collegiate Trust on 1st June 2025. The admissions criteria for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 had already been approved and agreed in line with the school admissions code prior to ICC joining The Collegiate Trust.

Ifield Community College admissions criteria for 2027-2028 has completed a consultation process and has been approved by The Collegiate Trust, as the admissions authority, and can be found here. admissions criteria 2027-2028.
All parents should apply for a school online at www.westsussex.gov.uk/admissions. When you submit your application you will receive an email containing the information on your application as confirmation that your application has been received. Please be aware that all the contact information which you provide will be shared with the allocated school to facilitate transition arrangements.
Year 6 into Year 7 Transition Day: We appreciate that the transition from primary to secondary school can be a cause of anxiety for both parents/carers and students. To help students make a smooth transition into the college we have an transition day in July where the Year 6 students follow a timetable and get to know the school and meet the teachers. Open Evening: We hold an Open Evening in the winter term for prospective Year 7 students and parents/carers. For more information on this evening please see: Open Evenings
Applications for Special Education Needs Students
For children who have an EHCP the Special Educational Needs Assessment Team (SENAT) try to arrange placements earlier in the year than other pupils, so that they can take account of specific needs and the preferred choice of school or college.

Application for a School Place – Students Moving Into the Area
Parents can apply for a school place through West Sussex County Council. In order to process an application, a confirmed address and moving date is required.

To apply to change your child’s school during the school year, please ask your current school to complete the ‘In-Year Application Form’ which is available from the below links:

Appealing
National Offers day is 2nd March 2026. You will receive an offer of a secondary place directly from the Local Authority in which you live.
If you have been offered a place at Ifield Community College:
Congratulations! You must now accept or decline the place through your local authority by 16th March 2026
If you have not been offered a place at Ifield Community College:
We hope you are happy with the school that you have been offered. If, however, you wish to appeal the decision not to offer a place at Ifield Community College, please click here to visit the West Sussex website on how to appeal.
Please note Ifield Community College is unable to answer any queries about the waiting list until the list is received from the local authority at the end of March 2026.
